Marking the completion of long-awaited postal walk upgrades in the beloved heart of Subiaco, the 2023 Postal Walk Opening Event was held in August 2023. This community event, hosted by the City of Subiaco and supported by RAC’s Reconnect WA Initiative program, brought together local businesses, community members and wider stakeholders for an excitement-filled evening. 

Unveiling new artwork representing the Noongar story of the Wagyl, the Postal Walk renovation project incorporated new interpretations with the area’s original artwork thanks to the preservation expertise of Sandra Hill and Jenny Dawson. 

Enjoyed by the community of Subiaco for decades, the upgraded space located off Rokeby Road was commemorated by a plaque unveiling on behalf of the City’s Mayor. Alongside live music and entertainment, the event featured a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony by Kevin Fitzgerald, speeches from Mayor David McMullen, RAC’s Marion Morton, A/General Manager Social Impact, and artist Robert Frith.

Our dedicated team oversaw stakeholder liaison, consulted with local businesses and community members, and coordinated catering, entertainment, audio-visual requirements and on-ground styling.
